My kitchens are generally based on a high quality 3/4" birch plywood with genuine wood faces, dovetailed drawers completely finished and fitted with German drawer slides for lifetime service, your choice of door style with German concealed hinges, and other highest quality hardware. Often my customers get very high price quotes from the usual suspects who provide a particle board case with attractive fronts. The upshot is a kitchen that looks fine at first, but deteriorates relatively rapidly. When people see the difference between my kitchens and theirs (especially the price) they often choose me. I recently refinished a kitchen I had built seventeen years ago for the new homeowner. The kitchen was still beautiful, but had gotten slightly scuffed, so we applied a new finish for them. All kitchens are custom designed and I can even rebuild the room if needed. This is not usually a service the big companies can provide.
